@CoachDeb @ 2:11 am:

Aloha Sherman!

Hu da man!

This is freakin AWESOME!!!

I luv how you can take notes & highlight right on the mag & never build up clutter to collect dust - yet it's always available to you digitally - which is FAR more organized IMHO.

Keep up the fantastic work keepin' us updated in all things Geekdom - Hu da man when it comes to techie stuff dude!

Luv following your Tweets too @ShermanHu

OH! Luv that they highlighted Hawaii as 1 of the top 10 islands to live on. I sure agree! See Hu in Hawaii soon!

@CoachDeb

Sherman Hu @ 2:14 am:

Aloha Deb! Woot! I know, right?!

The highlighting and notetaking is very handy. One can filter through all your highlights and notes, so no need to flip through all the mag again.

Plus save space, save paper, no stacks of mags collecting dust, Sarah is off my case on mags cluttering the house, etc ;-)

True, always available on my laptop.

Thanks for the props, and following too, Deb. (For social media mastery, persuasion and influence, follow Deb on Twitter @CoachDeb)

Hawaii is a shoe-in for Top 10, all the time ;-)

Aloha Mahalo!!

JIll @ 9:35 am:

I am definitely going digital! This not only saes paper, but eye strain as well as you can zoom in to read text easier! WOW!

Roy MacNaughton @ 1:09 pm:

Hey Sherman!

Great idea too for old(er) guys like me with eyesight not as good as it used to be.

Now I can keep my favorite mags online, and read them with ease due to the magnifying-zoom in feature. 'Lots easier to see.

This is not going to be good news for the paper industry; but then again, we only got so many trees and oxygen left, right?

Thanks for the heads (and eyes) up!

Cheers,

Roy

Tracy Needham @ 2:44 pm:

Thanks for the heads up! Saw Deb's Twitter and checked out your video and the site. Oddly enough, when I went to try it, it didn't have the notes and highlighting feature. Maybe it's only when you pay for the subscription? If so, they need to update their FAQ as well because it says that isn't available yet.

One question for you–is there anyway to actually copy text or take a screen capture? If so that would make saving things in my research files tremendously easier…

Ron @ 1:45 pm:

Tracy, thanks for your interest in Zinio! The notes and highlighting feature are not currently featured in the online, browser-based version of the Reader. They are, however, a part of the "offline" Reader, which you can download for free from Zinio.com.

One cannot copy and paste text from a Zinio publication into another application, but one can print pages as desired or do a screen capture using your operating system's tools or other utility (in Windows, hit control-alt-prtscn and paste into the program of your choice).

If you have any other questions, please visit Zinio.com and get in touch with us. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Ron

Ron, good to see you here. Glad you're tracking when Zinio is mentioned in the blogosphere - Woot!

Tracy, I'm using the offline reader in my video. Luv it.

One can screen cap the page using what Ron shared above for Windows, or use Grab (Mac) or JingProject.com (Win/Mac).

Rock on Ron!

Sherman,

Excellent video - thank you. We clearly share your enthusiasm and are delighted to have you as an evangelist. We added your video to our Facebook group "I read, therefore I Zinio" and I'd like to invite you and your readers to join. We love hearing from our customers, so don't hesitate to drop us a note, or call us toll free on 1-888-946-4666.

Sherman Hu @ 12:23 pm:

Adam, thanks for the invite to your Facebook Group: I read, therefore I Zinio. 350 members as of today, cool.

Appreciate you adding my video to the group!

Will touch base if I can think up of new applications for Zinio ;-)

Luv the fact Zinio is iPhone-friendly. Picking up my iPhone July 11th. I assume my account is transferable to the iPhone ;-)

Adam Kadleck @ 12:27 pm:

Sherman,

Zinio Labs team is working aggressively to develop new innovations for people like you. We want to hear what you like, don't like, and would like to see - so keep the comments coming.

We haven't activated the personal iPhone library service yet, but we're working on it. In the meantime, we will be updating the existing content monthly. We'll provide you updates about new products and services as they become available.

Please share this new application with your friends, and let them know it works on the iTouch as well. The more users and feedback we get, the better future releases would be.

Adam

Sherman Hu @ 12:47 pm:

iTouch-friendly too? Cool.

I've shared your Facebook Group, along with my Zinio video with my Facebook Fan Group.

Adam, I'm curious how you determine which magazines to bring online. I'm sure there are many factors, some of which should be done 1-on-1 ;-) I'm a subscriber to MacLife in print, so even though I was excited to see MacWorld, I was hoping to see MacLife there too. But figured the biz relationship wasn't a win-win yet ;-)

Where can my friends or I track the latest news and tips with Zinio? Just signed up to your newsletter, wondering if Zinio has a blog.

Cheers!

Adam Kadleck @ 1:41 pm:

Thanks Sherman. The Zinio Pulse, our monthly digital newsletter is a great source for exclusive offers, news and more on Zinio. The Pulse and our Facebook group are both great sources for tracking what we're up to. We also feature customers in The Pulse to learn how, where, and what they zinio.

In response to your question, publishers actually contact Zinio about producing digital issues of their publications, and we're adding new titles all the time. Contacting the publishers, and sharing your desire for a digital edition is a great way to get the ball rolling.

Adam
